Miley Cyrus - Twerked to the Dark Side

What is it with little Disney girls growing up too fast and too bad? Why are they fast-tracking their life into adulthood and in the worst way ever?!

I know this is nothing new. We all know what happened to Britney, Christina, and Lindsay.  But for some reason, I was still shocked and utterly disturbed by recent news and twerking photos of Hannah Montana star Miley Cyrus. I never even heard of twerking until now.

Here's a disturbing photo of Miley twerking at the 2013 MTV Video Music Awards:

NeverWonderLand

Ever wonder what is it like in my NeverWonderLand? Here's a poem describing it...

NeverWonderLand
(A Poem)

Ever wonder?
Never wander
Hither...yonder
Beyond the land
The land beyond
Never fecund

All so tensed
Makes no sense
How it ends
No one knows
How it blows
What it sows

What it reaps
As time leaps
My heart weeps
Painful tears
All those years
No one hears

What to do? What to do with these Bomb Revelations on Pork Barrel Scam?

I have always guessed that there is a huge organized corruption going on in our government but I was not prepared to learn how large the scale was.

Here is a blog with comments I chanced upon Facebook and it's really worth reading -

Janet Napoles’ Pork Barrel Scam: Theft from a Nation?

Read the comments of "ANONYMOUS" and you will get the shock of your life! I'm sharing it here to contribute even just a tiny bit to the exposure of this large scale scam. I am sure sharing this may not make a dent in the vastness of the issue but I really don't know what else to do as an individual citizen.

For a summary of "Anonymous'" comments, here's an excerpt from Facebook.

New Post from your BFF

Flowers & Pots by Viera – A Neophyte that has a lot to learn
(A Bridal Florist Review)

I am a believer of giving chances to small and budding businesses and since we are opting for less expensive suppliers, I took a chance at this florist who was recommended by the church  – Flowers & Pots by Viera, headed by Corie de Mesa.

What's Up, SheBlogger's Friends?

Yeah, I might as well ask that myself. Wazzup, SheBlogger??? :)

Well, the thing is I got married. And I'm sure you know how time consuming wedding preparations can be. Will try to tell you all about what I think of it but in the meantime, you may read a few details with reviews on my suppliers on my other blog.

Lady Olivine's Random Thoughts 6: Missing Things

Sometimes you wouldn't know what you've been missing until you feel or experience it again. That moment when you realize you have already forgotten how wonderful it feels. And then you ask yourself, "Why oh why am I depriving myself of this again?

Living a Sinful Life

Living a sinful life.

...that's how I feel I am doing right now. First, you have to know that I'm the type of girl who always wants to do things the right way. Not necessarily the moral way, but just the right way. (Does that make any sense?)

#RandomThoughts from Lady Olivine: Special Bond

What is this thing that connects us to some people? That for some reason we feel a strong connection with them even if we have only just met. Or we have only been together a few times.  For a lack of a better term I'd just call it "Special Bond"

#RandomThoughts by Lady Olivine: Fascination with First Love

Fascination with First Love

A lot of people seem to be fascinated with the concept of First Love. I admit that I am. Until now, I still wonder where my first love is and how it would be nice to see him before I settle down.  Not that it would matter now, but I guess I am just curious how we would both react. What it would be like, you know. Would there be a spark? A shot or pinch to the heart? Would my heart skip a beat? That sort of stuff....

#Random Thoughts: Choices

Sometimes it is better to be left with no other choice than to have several options. Why? There are times when all the options seem good and you can't decide which one is best. And that's scary. It's scary to make the wrong choice. You would regret not seeing right through it and get mad at yourself for being foolish.

That won't happen if you only had one choice. And even if it did not turn out good you could at least say, "Well, I did not have a choice".

Just some thought :)

A new poem entry by Lady Olivine...

Silent Desperation

I wish I could say
What I really feel
I wish I could understand
Coz it is vague, still

Remembering Old Pets...

These were my first two cats in my adult life.  I've had  many cats since I was a child, but these are the first two that I had when I was already at a legal age and living on my own.  The dog was my sister's.

Happy Valentine's Day!

I have no special post to share or discuss. Although I am hoping to write something that is worth reading on Valentine's Day. Maybe later. For now, just want to greet you all a Happy Valentine's Day!!! Message?

Just spread the love! And oh, leaving you with one of my favorite love quotes:

"True love comes quietly, without banners or flashing lights. If you hear bells, get your ears checked."  - Erich Segal

End of Long Weekend

Another post about weekend? Is it just me or are my posts recently all about weekends? Well, either of the two, it would still be me. Heheh...I hope you caught my drift.

In my defense, weekends are the only time I get to write anything. Or the only time I get to think of anything besides work. And sometimes it is even used for work! My work sucks, I know. Seriously contemplating of leaving it.  The only thing that's keeping me here is the flexibility it gives. The work from anywhere there is internet connection set up is really what I need. Works for me perfectly.  Let's see...I was able to travel and stay Singapore for the past week without filing a vacation leave. Cool, eh?

Yes, I know... that's one weekend I owe to this blog.  Ugh! I suck as a blogger.  Hoping to post pictures from that trip soon. Now, on to this blogpost...

Weekend Again...

But looks like my luck has ran out. I'm down with cough and colds...and headache...and toothache. Yes, toothache. Though not because of cavities or something like that. According to my dentist this is caused by stress. Yes, believe it or not, the headache and toothache were induced by stress.

My dentist said that I've been grinding my teeth in sleep. It's a sign of stress, she said. The unconscious grinding disturbs the nerves of my teeth, my large molar tooth on the left in particular, that's why it hurts. Then the pain from my tooth shoots up to the head. The pain is concentrated on the left side of my head and hurts my left eye as well. It even worsens every time I cough. I've got dry cough and I guess I don't have to describe all the pain brought about by that. Oooouuuuccchh....Poor me :(

Oh well, we can't always be lucky, can we? That would be abusive. So I guess, I'll just have to ignore the pain and go about my weekend as best as I can. Although curling up in bed with a good book, or watching some TV series on DVD, would be nice. Yeah, I think that is what I would do :)

Happy weekend, SheBlogger's Friends!

Lucky Weekend

The start of 2013 wasn't very good for me. I guess it was because I challenged the year and it was pissed off with me so it decided to test me right away. Barely a week into the year, everyone in my household went down with coughs, colds and fever. Everyone, except for me. The worst was my sister, whose fever was on and off. Took her to the hospital and she was admitted for suspected pneumonia &dengue fever. Monitoring and monitoring of CBC etc. To cut it short, costed us Php14,000++. Good thing though, it was neither of the two. Just a viral infection. Could be the same thing my parents had but she was just weaker, I guess.

A few days later, I received grave news. A relative died. Committed suicide. Worse part, she was only 21. Worst part, she left a 7-month old child. Just too tragic. :-(

I bet you're already wondering where the lucky part in all these is. Before you start thinking how callous of me to even consider some petty happenstance as luck or something to feel happy about, when it is juxtaposed with sickness & suicide, I would just like to say this is me, finding happiness in every little thing. And this is how I survive this battle called life. Ahem! Okay, here are the lucky parts...

Creations at Home: Revisiting an Old Hobby

Update on this post: I still haven't gotten around to finishing this project :( One of my missions this 2013!

Creations at Home: Revisiting an Old Hobby
18 Sep. 2012

It has been a while since my hands created something.  Oh, yes I did draw a black lily last month in my attempt to learn how to draw flowers.  The result was so-so, I guess, but was okay enough for me.   I will try my hand at that again some other time and maybe post the finished pieces here.  But right now, my hands are itching for another old hobby of mine, which is crocheting! It's a hobby, skill and talent I inherited from my Mami.  And I haven’t created anything in a very long time!

My Cat’s Toilet Manners

28 Nov. 2011

A few months ago, I invited an adult cat into my house.  Notice that I said “invited” because I did not buy her neither accepted her as a gift from someone.  She was a stray cat who kept frequenting my gate, then my window, meowing as if talking to me.  I meowed or talked back to her, asking if she wants to come in, if she’s hungry or needs a place to stay. You know, one thing about me is I talk to almost anything I feel like talking to, may it be an animal, plant and even inanimate objects. May seem a bit weird, but that’s me.
Anyway, the cat was at first shy to come inside but after a while, she made herself at home and moved in permanently. And as all cats do, she eventually acted as if she’s the queen of the house! And it was partly my fault because I fed her, bought fresh fish for her, pampered her. Well, you can see by now that I am a cat lover.

The Hazards of a Home-based Job

I thought that working from home is the best work arrangement of all. Yes, it has its perks and advantages.
Working from home...

1. Saves Time. No need to travel to and from office. You also don't need an hour or two just for shower, choosing what to wear and putting on make up. You can spend the extra hours doing something else, like bonding with your family.
2. Saves Energy. Traveling to and from office can be very exhausting, especially if you're living outside the metro and you have to travel 4-6 hours each day.  You can have enough or even longer sleep since you don't have to wake up early to beat the traffic.
3. Saves Money.  No Fares, No Toll fees, No Gasoline. No need to dine in at restaurants or fast-food chains.
4. Saves you from Stress. No Traffic, No Waiting in Line for Bus or MRT, No Obnoxious People to annoy you, both in traffic and in the office ;)

Or so I thought...

On Reading, Writing, and Storytelling

Here's one of my first posts in HeBlogs-SheBlogs. And I think it's quite appropriate to re-post this first because it would explain a lot about me and my reason for living, err...I mean blogging :D

On Reading, Writing, and Storytelling

I recently joined this online community for readers called “Goodreads”. It lets you rate books you have already read and mark books that you want to read.  It also counts the number of books you have read/rated. Mine only reached 129. Well that’s, at least, among the books that I was able to remember and find in their site.  For non-avid readers, 129 books is a lot. For bookworms, it’s very few.  And it saddens me because I consider myself a bookworm and then I find out that I’ve only read 129 books???  I’m a poser. :(

SheBlogger's Reviews is UP!

Hello again, SheBlogger's Friends!

As I have said in the Mother of my blogs, SheBlogger's NeverWonderLand, I'm migrating to blogspot.  So there'd be no new posts yet for the next few days. Really sorry about that.  But I'm going to re-post my reviews from the previous blogsite. Only those I still have in file though.

Please...please...bear with me as I have some reviews at the back of my head that have yet to be put on paper. Errr...in this case, on word doc ;) Just too many things on my plate and too little time. Tsk..Tsk...

Okay... enough of the excuses! I really should get back to work!

SheBlogger's New Home

Hello, Friends of SheBlogger!

HAPPY NEW YEAR! HAPPY NEW HOME!

It has been a very long time since the last time you heard from me and I must say, I really missed this, and of course, YOU...soooo much!  I am currently migrating HeBlogs-SheBlogs.com (HBSB) to blogspot due to some web hosting problems. But since blogspot has limited features, I divided and regrouped my previous categories into several blogs that you will find in the tabs.  And since HeBlogger rarely contributed to our blog, this new blog would be solely MINE! Hence, the name. :)

Elsbeth L.S.E.

Who am I?

Elsbeth L.S.E. is a 30-something girl-woman who believes to have seen and experienced rather a lot in life.
Well, at least enough to share to anyone who might be interested.

Why girl-woman? Because she is a grown up who have not forgotten how it is to be a child, to be a teenager, to be young. I still am, sometimes...well okay, most of the times. I am fun that way ;)

Elsbeth L.S.E. is also a freelance writer who dreams of getting published someday...will find a way to make it happen. But for now, I'll just be pouring my heart out in my blogs. Yes, blog with an "s" as I have several :)

Description:

Elsbeth L.S.E.’s NeverWonderLand is a blog by a 30-something girl-woman about the different facets of every individual and the world she lives in.

If you’re a female, what kind of girl or woman are you?  If you’re a male, what kind of boy or man are you?

I know it’s a very difficult question to answer. If you’re going to ask me what kind of woman I am, well… Uhmm… Let’s define the word “kind” first.  According to TheFreeDictionary.com, KIND is defined as follows:

Definition #1
a. A group of individuals or instances sharing common traits; a category or sort
example: different kinds of furniture; a new kind of politics.

b. A doubtful or borderline member of a given category
example: fashioned a kind of shelter; a kind of bluish color.

Definition #2
a. Underlying character as a determinant of the class to which a thing belongs; nature or essence.

b. The natural order or course of things; nature.

c. Manner or fashion.

In reference to definition number 1(a), I am a 30-something single girl-woman. In reference to definition number 2(a), I am a career-driven, simple homebody, adventurous and somewhat socially and environment conscious individual, all rolled into one. And oh, I’m a bit of an artist too! So, I guess we fall under definition number 2(b), a doubtful or borderline member of several different types.

Complicated, you think?  Well, who said you can only be one kind?  I believe you can never really put an individual in one box.  The human psyche is anything but single-minded!  I have many interests, several different roles to play, a number of goals to achieve, and a lot of people to give my love to.

Anyway, whatever kind you are, whatever kind you want, or whatever kind you want to be, I know for sure that this is the blog for you.

-->
Every experience, desire, hope and expectation in love and in life, let’s share it all here in…

Elsbeth L.S.E.’s NeverWonderLand

This blog would serve as the “Mother Blog”, where I would post just about anything that I feel like sharing and linking to my other blogs. It would also serve as a “Gateway” to my other blogs for categorized topics, which could be accessed through the tabs. There's the Elsbeth L.S.E.'S NeverWonderLand, Elsbeth L.S.E.'S Reviews, The Clueless Kusinera and Love, Life and Lies.

As I have said, I am many things... I am Elsbeth L.S.E. a.k.a. The Clueless Kusinera... a.k.a. Lady Olivine.
